You can hire a self-drive boat without a licence at several locations on the Gold Coast, including GoBoat Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise and Gold Coast BBQ Boat Hire at Hope Island. These companies offer beginner-friendly boats with safety instructions before departure.
The booking process is simple: choose a boat, select your preferred date, book online and attend the safety briefing before setting off.
Even without a licence, understanding basic boating safety and navigation is important. Boat Licence Queensland offers boat and jet ski licence training across Queensland for those who want to develop their boating skills and gain confidence on the water.
