What materials are commonly used in the manufacturing of Stretch Film, and what properties make it flexible, elastic, strong, puncture-resistant, tear-resistant, and suitable for securing different types of loads?

Most modern Stretch Film is manufactured from polyethylene, particularly linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and specialized metallocene or other high-performance polyethylene formulations. Different resin combinations and film structures can be used to achieve the required balance of stretchability, tensile strength, puncture resistance, cling, and load retention. LDPE is widely used because it provides a strong combination of elasticity and toughness. Advanced polyethylene formulations can allow manufacturers to produce thinner films while maintaining the required mechanical performance for many applications. This can help reduce material consumption without compromising the necessary load-stabilizing function when the film is properly selected. Stretch Film can be manufactured using cast or blown film extrusion, with multilayer co-extrusion commonly used for high-performance products. Multilayer structures can combine different resin characteristics within a single film to provide improved strength, stretch, cling, puncture resistance, and processing performance. One important property is elastic recovery. After being stretched around a load, the film attempts to return toward its original dimensions, creating holding force around the pallet. This tension helps stabilize products during transportation.
